(1) 我們要把第二個子句改寫成形容詞子句，來修飾第一子句中的old painters。

這裡"one of them" 中，"them"代表的是前述的old painters，所以把它改關代，由於這是受詞，所以用關代受格whom，變成one of whom。

(2)這種 「one/parts/some of +關代」的句型中，因為所提的人/事/物都是已知明確的對象(原來是代名詞them)，所以是屬於「非限定(有逗點)」的用法，所以前面會加上逗號隔開。
